Bretten – Security is still a high priority for companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This is why judges at this year’s Best in Biz Awards again recognized lots of security products in the EMEA region. The SEEBURGER solution for Managed File Transfer (MFT) was awarded second place in the Enterprise Product of the Year category.

A recent Microsoft survey on data security found that only 34 per cent of smartphone users who participated in the survey use a password to secure their mobile device. Many of these smartphone users also use their phones to download mission-critical data for business purposes. “These figures show just how important MFT solutions are to ensuring secure data transfer. If sensitive data is stored on a smartphone and goes missing, it can result in costly financial damages for the company, and a loss of trust on the part of clients and partners. A MFT platform closes any similar gaps in security and enables fast, secure transfer of all types and volumes of data. End-to-end monitoring provides a transparent overview of who sent which files to which recipient, and if and when they were downloaded.

A centralized authorization tool also means that only authorized individuals can access files as temporary downloads, by entering a password. The original file is always stored centrally in the MFT system, which is especially crucial if employees are using mobile devices. The solution can also be fully integrated with existing IT and SAP landscapes – for example, it can easily be linked up with Microsoft Outlook.

E-Invoicing: auch die Weiterverarbeitung muss elektronisch stattfinden

Bretten – Schnellere Durchlaufzeiten, weniger manueller Aufwand, Kosteneinsparungen, Druck von Lieferanten und Kunden: Es gibt viele Gründe, aus denen immer mehr Unternehmen ihr System auf elektronische Rechnungsverarbeitung umstellen. Um bei der Projektplanung und Implementierung konkrete Fragen zu beantworten, arbeitet SEEBURGER mit neutralen Experten zusammen und stellt Tipps und Ratschläge zum Thema E-Invoicing zur Verfügung. In einer aktuellen Prognose des E-Billing-Experten Bruno Koch geht dieser davon aus, dass 2013 das Volumen von elektronischen Rechnungen im B2B-Bereich in Europa um 20 Prozent wachsen wird.[1] Bei vielen Firmen sind aber immer noch steuerrechtliche Fragen offen. Wie muss eine elektronische Rechnung archiviert werden? In Papierform und in elektronischer Form? Wie lange sind die Aufbewahrungspflichten? Dipl.-Finanzwirt und Steuerexperte Bernhard Lindgens kennt diese Fragen. „Die Unternehmen können noch nicht wirklich abschätzen, wie ein elektronisches Rechnungsverfahren später in der Prüfungspraxis anerkannt wird. Bei Außenprüfungen kann es erfahrungsgemäß vorkommen, dass Prüfer erst Jahre später die Dokumente steuerrechtlich beurteilen. Viele Firmen wollen deshalb noch abwarten, bis sich hier eine einheitliche Prüfungspraxis im Umgang mit elektronischen Rechnungen etabliert hat“, so Lindgens. Über zwei Drittel der befragten deutschen Unternehmen verwenden lediglich das PDF-Format für den Versand, ohne den gesamten Verarbeitungsprozess zu automatisieren (Quelle: Ifo-Studie „2012 Global E-Invoicing Study“). „Eine elektronische Rechnung bringt den Unternehmen relativ wenig, wenn nur der Rechnungsversand elektronisch stattfindet. Auch die Weiterverarbeitung muss elektronisch erfolgen, sonst werden durch das Einpflegen der elektronischen Dokumente wieder Mitarbeiterressourcen gebunden“, so Lindgens. Firmen, die jetzt mit dem E-Invoicing einsteigen wollen, können von einer sicheren und gleichbleibenden Rechtslage ausgehen: „Steuerrechtliche Änderungen sind in der nächsten Zeit von Seiten der Finanzbehörde nicht zu erwarten“, so Lindgens Einschätzung.
